Sara Muender is a commercial artist specializing in graphic design and photography.  She and her husband Thomas Folsom divide their time between the cranberry bogs of northern Wisconsin and the eastern Caribbean islands of St. Martin and Saba.  In the late 1980's Sara began developing her own unique style of painting based on pen and ink sketches using the contour or blind drawing method and water media. Subject matter and style vary from the whimsical animals, cottages and landscapes of the Caribbean to the more impressionistic flora and fauna of the Northwoods.  Most work is available in the form of original paintings & monotypes, giclee prints, limited-edition prints & cards.  Some commissioned work accepted.

In the summer of 2001 after years of exhibiting her work in a variety of local galleries and co-ops, Sara opened her own commercial gallery in the resort community of Boulder Junction, Wisconsin.  Moondeer & Friends Gallery is a combination of contemporary fine art and craft, European, Oriental and American antiques and artifacts, and professional custom framing. Here Sara and her friend and partner, Jennifer Arnett Musson, are finally able to represent not only themselves but over 90 other regional artists and associates in a unique and eclectic fashion.  Please stop for a visit the next time you're in the North Woods.
